Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs (Little Golden Books)

Snow White’s stepmother, the queen, is jealous of the girl’s beauty and sends her way to the forest, where she is found by the seven dwarfs. Finally, the wicked queen puts the girl into an everlasting sleep. But Snow White is awakened by a kiss from a handsome prince and lives happily ever after.

11 minimum

Lovable Lyle by Bernard Waber

Everyone loves Lyle the Crocodile. The Primm family certainly does. And the bakery lady. And Mr. Delight, the ice cream man. And Lyle loves the whole, wide wonderful world and thinks the world loves him, until one day he receives a mysterious note that says, ‘I hate you. I hate you more than anything.’ Why Lyle is disliked and how he convinces everyone that all crocodiles aren’t bad is the dilemma in this delightful story about one of the most lovable animals ever created.

Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak

Max, a wild and naughty boy, is sent to bed without his supper by his exhausted mother. In his room, he imagines sailing far away to a land of Wild Things. Instead of eating him, the Wild Things make Max their king.

Pete the Cat and His Groovy Buttons

Get hip to the grooviest cat around – Pete! Does he lose his groove when he loses his buttons? Will he find them?

Interested in play writing, or having one of your pieces work-shopped by a pro? Check it out in four quick sessions with John Cruncleton III, Clark’s award winning Technical Director, Designer, and prolific playwright! This is your chance to delve deep without a long-term commitment – a longer class will be available during the school year.

After examining the essential elements of effective scene-writing, students will each conceive and develop their own original standalone scene. Students will refine their work over multiple drafts, from rough outline to finished product. Each step of the process will include a reading of the material followed by a detailed critical analysis.     Enrollment form HERE
