Spring 2023 Class Enrollment is open!

Please complete class enrollment online before class attendance. You MAY try classes for one week without payment to see if you like it – just check in at the office! Payment arrangements are available at checkout, Epic schools can be billed (please call or email the office for a coupon code), and scholarships are available. No child is ever turned away from Clark classes for inability to pay!

Spring theatre classes return to Clark Youth Theatre! Classes are taught by industry professionals and are open to anyone regardless of skill level.

Pre-Teen Saturday Classes

Saturdays, February 4th-May 6th. Cost is $185. Ages 8-12.

Pre-teen Laughing Matter Improv 

Taught by Erin Scarberry

A chance for pre-teens to learn new skills, perform scenes and improv games, and learn basic fundamentals of performance.

Saturdays, February 4th-May 6th, 10:00 a.m.–11:30 a.m.

Cost is $80 or Pre-teen Saturday pass. Ages 8-12.

Storybook Series  

Taught by Thomas Farnan-Williams

Storybook Series at Clark is one of our favorite programs for preteens. Students use class time to create, rehearse and prep for Storybook Series performances throughout the semester. Students gain performance experience while performing their favorite books for adoring young theatre-goers! There are two performances per semester, each with unique presentations. As performances may or may not be digital, days and times are TBA.

Saturdays, February 4th-May 6th, 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Cost is $80 or Pre-teen Saturday pass. Ages 8-12.  

Pre-Teen Musical Theatre

Taught by Tammy Slack and Thomas Farnan-Williams

Cultivate your skills as a vocalist and dancer through musical theatre performance! Students will focus on singing, dancing and acting fundamentals with strong emphasis on vocal and dance techniques. The class will workshop songs from modern and classic musical theatre.

Saturdays, February 4th-May 6th, 1:30 p.m.-3:00 p.m.

Cost is $80. Ages 8-12.

Friday Night Live!

Taught by John Cruncleton III

Our Friday Night Live! Series for teens returns, now in our Saturday line up! Students will spend the semester creating original film, theatre, sketch comedy, and musical presentations. Participants will be the writers, collaborators, and performers for an end of semester performance of Friday Night Live! at Clark Youth Theatre. All digital materials created may be used by Clark Youth Theatre for television, print and web promotion.

Teen Laughing Matter Improv 

Taught by Erin Scarberry & John Cruncleton III

This class teaches comic improv games to increase creativity, teamwork and performance skills. There are at least two public performances held during the semester.

Teen Workshop Hour 

Facilitated by Erin Scarberry & John Cruncleton III

Teen artists who wish to take a more in-depth approach to their theatrical studies are invited to participate in Clark’s Conservatory Hour. In addition, Clark Youth Council is an active part of Conservatory. The first Saturday of every month Conservatory Hour will be time for Youth Council to promote performances, provide social media support and make recommendations about CYT programming.

Homeschool Theatre Classes at Clark Youth Theatre

Homeschool Drama

Taught by Thomas Farnan Williams

These classes are designed for home-schooled students ages 8-18. Goals: To provide students with an introduction to theatre through individual and group drama experiences. The class culminates in a final presentation that demonstrates the performance skills and talents of the students. Class enrollment is limited to 24. If enrollment exceeds 12, the class will be divided by age into pre-teen and teen groups. There must be at least 6 students for class to make.  

Tuesdays, January 24th-April 9th, 1:00pm-3:00pm.

Cost for class is $120. Ages 8-18.

Home School Musical Theatre

Theatre Costuming Class

Taught by Genie Reiman

Cultivate your skills as a seamstress and a costumer by learning to design for the stage, evaluate and assemble costumes, and repurpose costume items. This class is hands on, and will be offerred both semesters.

Thursdays, January 24th-April 9th,  3:00 pm – 4:00 p.m.

Cost for class is $80. Ages 8-18.
